Rare miniature collectible antique set. Containing the Old and New Testaments. Translated out of the original tongues and with the former translations diligently compared and revised, by His Majestys Special Command.

And Administration of The Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, according to the use of the United Church of England and Ireland.

Together with the Psalter or Psalms of David, pointed as they are to be sung or said in Churches. The book measures 6cm x 9.5cm, 3cm thick. The set comes complete with original leather box. The Old Testament is in the first book, the New Testament and Book of Common Prayer are combined in the second book.

The dark purple leather covers are in good condition, however there are some distinguishable scuffs on the spines and boards. No splitting of the spine or boards, firmly bound to the text block.

The first blank end papers are inscribed by the previous owner, dated 1850. The contents are in very good condition, lightly used if at all by previous owner, very minor creasing perhaps in places. Bright clean text, All text is clearly legible. Overall the text blocks appears strong, tight and complete, however a small section of joined pages are separated from the bulk starting at Ezra, no missing pages, this sits within the text block comfortably, but is removable.

Gold gilded edges are in good condition, some slight scuff/scratches. Overall remains in good condition for an antique edition, with as described clear signs of age, light use and wear. The leather box remains functional, the books fit snugly inside. The latch is loose when connected, so the locking mechanism is ineffective. The flap that closes the box is delicate at its hinges, some noticeable wear/rubbing along the edges. Overall stores the books adequately, with clear signs of age, use and wear.
