Set of 5 Chase Bros Haverhill Agate Tip Burnishing Tools Book Binding Goldleaf

  

Up for sale is a rare set of five large agate-tipped burnishing tools by Chase Brothers of Haverhill, MA. Each burnisher is about 14" - 15" long. The original finish is intact on all five tools. One burnisher looks to have had its stone replaced, with the new stone being glued in place.

The middle tool has a small chip on the rounded end of the handle (see 2nd to last photo). Chase Brothers were merchants and manufacturers of printing and bookbinding tools and supplies.
