Superb Set Of Antique Velvet Holy Bible & Prayer Book, Fine Brass Bindings

  

This is a matching antique set of "The Holy Bible" and "The Book of Common Prayer". They were printed in 1836 and 1835 respectively. Bound in uniform black velvet fine bindings with brass closure clasps and edging to covers, brass central mounts to front covers with titles embossed on them, regal style silk like endpapers surrounded by gilt dentelles decoration. Dimensions of 4.8" x 3".

The combined weight is approximately 750g unpacked. Some areas of rubbing to the velvet, mainly to the bible - a few minor light stains to endpapers - turned corners to a handful of pages in bible (see images) - some scattered trivial marking here and there to contents (generally very clean and bright throughout though).

Otherwise they are a beautiful set in overall very good and well preserved condition.
